Wii Owners: Wii need your help!

HEY! If you have a Wii, CANFAR McMaster needs your help! They are holding a Wii Tournament March 18th to raise awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS research. It’s a great cause, and if you can spare your console and your time on Thursday, March 18th, it would be awesome!

If you’re interested, send me an email. (andrew /at/ mdgg.ca)

MLC Frost Week LAN

Hey everyone, this may be late notice, but the McMaster LAN Club is having a LAN Saturday, January 16th,  from 11am to 8pm, in BSB 106. It’s going to be a Counter-Strike Tournament with a $10 entry fee.

80% of entry fees going to prize pool and 20% for MLC hardware upgrades.
There will be a draw for a “Mystery Prize” hint: its 20lbs and glows blue. Also there will be gaming packages from Pownz Gaming Center, and other possible prizes (t-shirts?).

The format will be a round robin with the top 3 seeded teams winning prizes. Teams will be ranked by matches won, lost, tied and (if tied between two teams) number of rounds won. Counter Strike 1.6 or Source, to be determined by an upcoming poll on the MLC website. More details will be posted when they are finalized. Note: ANYONE CAN COME TO THE EVENT, YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE FROM MCMASTER!

So, if you guys can make it be sure to check it out!

Click to super-size!

Hi everyone! We’re having our first event, the 6n4 Gauntlet, this Friday October 9th at 5:00 PM in BSB-B120 EDIT: It is in BSB-120, not the basement.
The 6n4 Gauntlet is a tournament where each round will be a randomly decided game from the following list of Nintendo 64 games:

  • Diddy Kong Racing
  • Mario Kart 64
  • Goldeneye
  • Super Smash Bros
  • Perfect Dark
  • Super Mario 64

Each game will be a 4-player match with a specific objective and time limit. Bring your own controller if you don’t trust in any plastic that isn’t yours. You can come and hang out for free — bring your portable systems and we’ll play some multiplayer games before and during the tournament. If you want to try your hand at the tournament, it’s a $3 donation to enter, and the winner will take home half of the proceedings. The rest will go to the MDGG for future events.

Hope to see you guys there!

A Message From the Administrator Regarding Clubsfest & New Applicants

mdggpwn

Welcome. Welcome to MDGG. You are one of the 150 who, at Clubsfest, chose, or were chosen, to join one of the finest university gaming groups available. We thought so much of the games we’re going to play, that we’re working on the first event on the campus so thoughtfully provided by our benefactors. I have been proud to call MDGG my group. And so, whether you are here for the Steam group, or passing through to games unknown, welcome to MDGG. It’s more fun here.

It got removed from Youtube because of the audio, so I had to go with un-HD Viddler instead :(

News Update – Game Night, Video, & McMaster LAN Club

tf2news

News: We has it for u.

  1. Our game night was great on Sunday as we played a bunch of very fast-paced, table-flinging rounds of Half-Life 2: Deathmatch. We’ve got some footage to work with for the video, but we’ll probably capture some more video of other games we play like Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, and whatever else might come our way.
  2. Our good friends the McMaster LAN Club are having a LAN party this Saturday (August 15th). If you’re available between noon and 6pm on Saturday, swing by MDCL room 1010 with your computer. Games will be provided, so there’s no fear involved. Also, its FREE. Check out their website, or send maclanclub|@|gmail.com any questions you might have. (Sorry I made the address stupid so they won’t get spam)
  3. My list  tags have not been set up for CSS properly, so this list looks dumb and far too close to the left sidebar (Sorry!). If it looks ok, I’ve fixed it! :D
  4. Finally, September is coming up quickly, so be sure to set your phasers to AWESOME because this year is going to rock!

Thanks,

-Andrew
